Hello everybody! Today I'm going to talk to you about an album that I really like. I really don't know about music, I'm not an expert on the subject. But I can tell you that Shakira's album "Dónde están los ladrones" will never go out of style, and you will never stop singing it. No matter the place or the occasion, if one of its songs sounds, you will undoubtedly sing it. And it doesn't matter if you like Shakira or not, one way or another you know her songs. They are one of those songs that entered your mind without your permission.  This album especially is hit after hit. I listen to it in the shower, when I am traveling, to clean and when I am very drunk with my friends. It is always a great experience. Its songs can take you from moving your hips to the rhythm of "Ojos así" to singing at the top of your lungs "Si te vas", and "Moscas en la casa" makes you suffer for a love that can be invented haha. In addition, it has so...

Blog 4 - Education

Hello everyone! If I had to advise someone who is about to enter university, I would tell them, first of all, to consider their options well. It is important to make this decision according to your personal interests or your projections -if you have them-, not responding to pressure from other people. I would also tell you not to spend all your time at the university. The studies are important, but it is also important to have time for yourself, to take a walk from time to time or go out with friends. Many times things like that are postponed without realizing it, and you are likely to get overwhelmed later. It's important to keep friendships alive and have time to relax. Finally, I would advise you not to sacrifice your mental health in order to get your university studies. It is very important that you listen to your body when it shows signs of not being well. Do not neglect the hours of sleep, or the diet. Not subjecting yourself to excessive loads of stress that are likel...

Blog 3 - Religion

Hello everyone, I don’t like to write about this topic,  but I need to say that the Catholic religion, one way or another has always been a bother in my life.   It all started at school, when I had to pray by memory and without feeling it. Also when I was part of ceremonies that made me feel uncomfortable and didn’t mean anything to me. I have always associated religión with a duty and an obligation. This meant that the prize of not doing the things that religión asked me to do, was punishment. And If my ideas and wishes did not conform to what I had been taught in my catholic formation, I was in sin and was not deserving of grace. I was denied a forgiveness, a salvation and a love that was originally supposed to be for everyone. So Catholic education brought me shame and guilt. In the present, I can’t stop thinking about how many times we have been denied our rights and liberties in the name of religión; on how many times we have felt guilty for being who we are be...

Blog 2 - Healthcare system

Hello everyone, sorry for the delay. When I have to write about the Chilean health system, I can only speak out of anger.  The mixed system that exists in Chile -fonasa and isapre- determines the chances you have of surviving an illness or accident, and this possibility will be defined by your money. Those who have money can afford treatment and care in a private clinic, accessing quality service in a timely manner; who does not, gets a lifetime debt or a death sentence.  Mental and physical health is not a guaranteed right today in Chile. Public health since before the pandemic was precarious and saturated due to the great demand it has. People die in waiting rooms or in long lines since the early hours of the morning. I want to believe that this will change in the not so distant future. It is necessary for health to stop depending on our wallet. Access to health must be guaranteed by the State as a universal right. Will it be possible to achieve this in this new constitution...

I. POLITICS

Hello everybody! I hope you are all fine. In today’s blog I am going to talk a bit about how my vision about politics has changed. Despite growing up in a home with really marked right-wing thoughts and, have been repeatedly told that politics is not a topic you should talk about, my ideology has always been linked to a left-wing kind of view. Although I could only identify it as left-wing ideology when I was older. My parents always keep telling me that politics was a issue where you can’t change anything. Politics is what it is and, there is nothing you can do about it. You just must keep working and not to worry about matters in which we do not have real interference. However, I had a lot of concerns and could not believe that everything was so static. In the beginning, when I started to get interested in the subject, I had a hard time understanding how something that was so strange for me, could have real repercussions in my life. But, little by little, I began to understand. And, ...
